Travis Victor Alexander...The Mighty Mighty Mormon Missionary

Travis Alexander may in fact be one of the most amazing people that I have ever met in my short 29 years. Seriously hands down this guy was truly remarkable. Travis had this thing about him that distinguished him from most people in this world. He was witty and full of adventure but with that he was "tight with Jesus." This guy not only believed in Christ and his Gospel but he had a relationship with Christ and God. He was never afraid to tell people about Christ, hence, his title. This is what he had called himself on his mission; The Mighty Mighty Mormon Missionary. He loved and embraced every moment of it, although when his mission was all said and done he never let go of teaching the Gospel and inspiring others to make the most of their journey in this life. This guy literally inspired every living Soul on this earth he had come in contact with. He never stopped motivating or teaching. It was his passion and he loved Christ so much that he could not stop, we have him on a old video tape literally singing to the Savior, he had the camera and came across a picture of Christ and busted out a song to him, not as a joke and not as a geek but someone who was witty and had this connection with the Savior. After recently seeing him sing this song to the Savior on that video tape, I realized that Travis got it. He got what life was about and we were only sixteen years old at that time. I believe in Christ and I believe in the plan but there is so much more to it then belief, I want what Travis had, to know the Savior, truly know him and remember him every moment of my days on this earth; as Travis did! On June 4, my dear friend moved on to the next life. In a short 30 years he has accomplished what most will never come close to. Although, Travis had been murdered and taken from this life, I know that it was his time to go. Anyone who has ever met him will testify that he comes close to perfection, an individual who completed the Journey of Life. I am so blessed to have known such an individual. Guaranteed this guy is right next to God and our Savior. Travis served part of his Mission in Colorado, where I have some relatives. I told him before he left to teach them and baptize them for me. Apparently they were playing "hard to get." Although, I am certain that he is up there right and this very moment teaching every single one of my relatives that have passed on. Travis don't worry I will do my part with them...You are as real as a they get, a true friend, hands down one of the most remarkable people I know that has walked upon this earth. I know the veil is thin I feel you all around, in the wind, as I look at the big bright moon. I love you Travis Alexander. I can't wait to see you on the other side!
Pictures above were taken back in 2006 for a get together in Huntington Beach, and then 1999. He and I had a broken heart. One day we were feeling down and out, so we decided to hit Big Bear and go Hiking. It started to rain and we apparently got a little rugged with all the mud. And though we were broken hearted we seemed to chuck those sad depressing, hating life feelings to the side for a moment and in that day we learned that life is beautiful and though we may have felt that life could not be more cruel and sad we knew that we would continue our journey in this life. Because we believed in the PLAN. We love the PLAN. And in the end happiness only lies...

Travis is characterized as a ispirational person. He was a motiviational Speaker in his career in which he was extremely succesful, he just finished a book, Raising You. A self-help book that describes his rough childhood, explaining that it is up to each of us to make our lives. Travis and I were closely bounded together in that we sort of raised ourselves in the Church and always had a connection with that. Here is just of one insightful things he as said,

"The difference between a stumbling block and a stepping stone is the character of the individual walking the path." - Travis Alexander

If you get a chance here some of the blogs that he posted with regards to his book. If you get a chance check it out you will be inspired....

Same, I was all excited that you posted something, and then I got all sad! Was Travis living here, or in California? What a tragedy! I swear the Lord takes away the greatest people sometimes! My cousin just died last year, and she was the same...super spirit! I admire you so much Dawn! You are such an awesome person! Jamis and Ella are so LUCKY! :)

I was perplexed watching the 48 hours Mistery. How could someone leave him there alive and do nothing? I would have run to a neighbor or scream out loud for the police to get the killers, if this was the case. I was shocked by Jody's cold hearted way. She simply vanished for a week. How cruelk can that be? I am sorry, she has not be in trial yet, but I did not buy her story. How can she talk about God? I think if she dies, she will be happy to know that they are going to meet again. This is just insane!

Travis had a lot of charisma, and he was very successful because of that. At one time, he may indeed been close to god and Christ. However, he was, at least in the last year or so, leading a life of hypocrisy; having sex with Jodi Arias and probably other girls, while maintaining outwardly he was a good Mormon. He could have gone to the bishop and confessed and repented, but he didn't. In other words, for at least the last year of his life, he was a hypocrite, and hypocrites don't stand next to God or Jesus. His success was NOT a "sign" that he was "tight" with God! Many people can be motivational to others, and successful, yet very far, far from God. Unfortunately, at least in his last year, Travis Alexander was far, far, FAR away from God!

I have been watching the trial and I don't care what faults Travis might have had, it seems like he was one of the most outstanding people God ever placed on this planet! We ALL have short comings and we ALL sin....That is why Jesus died on the cross....so we can be forgiven! At least that is what I believe! NO one is perfect!! Should we strive to live a perfect life?? "Yes", I believe we should...but do we? The short but simple answer is, "No, we do not!" As the mother of a young man who is almost the same age now as Travis was when he passed away, I can tell you that staring into Travis' eyes through some of the pictures I've seen of him, haunts me to the core!! His life was only beginning when he was taken...I don't know that it was Travis' time to go...it's not for me to say...That's up to God...but I can't help but think that Travis still had a lot great things left to accomplish in his life...but because God does give us a free will...people with nothing but evil intent will continue to run rampant and take the lives of innocent people! I'm not so sure that God intended ANY life to be taken in such a horrible way...but I am not God nor do I claim to be...so at this point, I can only speculate!! I believe God knew what would take place in Travis' young life and the path he would take...Perhaps that is why Travis accomplished so much more in his young life than the average person generally does, because God already knew his life here on Earth would be cut short...now he is up in Heaven continuing his journey...Travis is happy now and totally at peace...it's the loved ones he left behind that miss his smile, his jokes and his singing! They are the ones that feel the huge void left in their hearts by a son, brother and friend taken too soon!! I LOVE reading posts and blogs written by his friends! He was a true friend to each one of them....they're all saying the same thing and this blog is no different! We should all be so lucky as to have had a "Travis Alexander" in our lives to call "friend".....I just pray that God blesses his family and all of the friends that loved him so much!! I know this trial is bringing up a lot of memories of a fateful day that many of you may have managed to place in the back of your mind, choosing only to remember the great person you knew Travis to be....I advise you to keep the "good" memories on the forefront of your mind...Travis would want you to remember him the way he was...the person you all knew him to be, not the hear say and deception that always goes on in the court room of an evil defendant who admitted to committing such an unconscionable act of violence against another human being! I hope when all is said and done with this trial, that you, his friends and his family, will be able to go in your lives with nothing but happy memories of Travis and the wonderful person he was as well as with peace in your hearts!! God Bless you all...I know Travis is smiling down on you....There is a special place in Heaven for those people whose lives were cut short and taken in such a horrible way....Travis is no doubt up there making God smile.... <3

Thank you for sharing this. I had tears in my eyes. I would love to read Travis' book and help him reach out from heaven to continue his inspiring words. He with always be a guiding light to many people. I have never met him, but I feel oddly close to him. Shine your light, Travis.

This was Travis' birthday. It seems as though, of all the people who knew Travis, only one of them has anything negative to say, and she has an alterior motive.
There are those who are so self-righteous that they think they can judge him for being a bad Mormon, or hypocrite. But those people are the biggest hypocrites of all.

So many people have gotten to know Travis who never knew him in real life. I'll think about him and his life every July 28th.

I found this blog while trying to find out if Travis's book will be published. I certainly pray it will because it was something that he was working hard to complete. I will be in line to purchase it if it ever comes out.

As for the people who are calling Travis "a bad Mormon who was leading a double life"...you should just shut up. You have no idea what Travis did or did not do as far as talking to a church Bishop or as he laid dying he may have prayed to the Lord to forgive him. As I recall, the Holy Bible says something to the affect "Let those who have not sinned throw the first stone." My heart tells me that Travis is right up there with our Heavenly Father.

It would have been such a honor to have met Travis. Maybe someday if I make it to heaven, I will get to stand in that long line of people waiting to meet Travis. I'm sure it would be worth the wait!

Travis's book has been published by his siblings. The title of the book is:
RAISING YOU: STUMBLING BLOCKS OR STEPPING STONES, The Roadmap to a Better You

The book can be ordered on Amazon either in hardback or Kindle edition.

The book is so inspirational. I want to meet Travis. He was/is such a remarkable man. What a tragedy that he was murdered. I'm sure there was a lot more things he could have accomplished if he remained here on earth.

Travis may have been taken away from this world...however, he is still helping people even if he's not here. Travis...your still doing what you wanted to do. Your still touching people's lives. What a wonderful, special man. Hopefully, I will have the honor of meeting you in heaven some day!
